The Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering is the youngest faculty of the University being founded in 2014 on the basis of the University’s Senate decision from 28 April 2014 and of the Government Decision no. 580/2014, published in the Official Gazette of Romania no. 527/16 July 2014, and as a consequence of the development of study and research programmes in technical fields.

RESEARCH STRUCTURES

THE CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN TOPOGRAPHY AND CADASTRE was established at the same time with the Topography-Cadastre Department, as a requirement of the education-research-production triad. It conducts research in topographic mapping, geodesic networks and the introduction of estate-town planning cadastral survey in localities.

THE CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE carries out fundamental and applied research in the field of Mathematics and Computer Science, focusing on the development of science, education, economy, services and community relationships.

THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN THE THEORY AND APPLICATIONS OF GEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS was founded as a result of the international academic partnership of the following founding members: “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Kinki University - Osaka, Japan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia -Malaysia, Istanbul Kultur University - Turkey.

“POLARIS” GEOLOGICAL AND SPELAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH CENTRE carries out fundamental and applied research in the areas of Geology, Spelaeology, Environment Protection and Earth Sciences, and focuses on the development of scientific research, of higher education in these fields, of the economy, of services and of community relations.
